• Bicyclist struck, killed by vehicle in Hayward (nbcbayarea.com) — A bicyclist was fatally struck by a car early Monday at Harder and Soto roads in Hayward, and police say the Hayward driver stayed at the scene and cooperated. The 62-year-old cyclist later died at the hospital, and investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved. • Arrest made in series of bicycle thefts from Caltrain (eastbaytimes.com) — Deputies investigating a string of bicycle thefts from Caltrain trains ultimately tracked the suspect to a hotel in Hayward, where he was arrested Monday. Authorities say the East Palo Alto man is linked to ten thefts between May and August and was booked in Redwood City. The case highlights regional transit crime that still directly touches Hayward.
