Healdsburg Driver Killed In Old Redwood Hwy Crash
One person was arrested following the the two-vehicle collision Tuesday evening, the CHP said.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified a driver who died in a collision Tuesday evening south of Healdsburg as Jose Alderete-Beltran, 57, of Healdsburg.
Beltran was driving a Volkswagen Passat north on Old Redwood Highway south of Limerick Lane in unincorporated Sonoma County around 5:50 p.m. when a southbound gray Volkswagen Beetle crossed over double yellow lines into the northbound lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Beetle driver, Josimar Ortiz-Ortiz, 26, of Windsor, suffered minor injuries, and after field sobriety tests was arrested on suspicion of DUI, CHP Officer David deRutte said.

Beltran was extricated from the Passat by fire personnel and died on the way to a hospital, deRutte said. A passenger in the Passat suffered minor injuries.
Ortiz is scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court Thursday afternoon.

One person died and another has been arrested following a two-vehicle collision Tuesday in unincorporated Sonoma County north of Windsor, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said Josmar Ortiz Ortiz, 26, of Windsor, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence after field sobriety tests administered after the collision showed he was above the legal blood-alcohol level of .08-percent.
The collision was reported at 5:50 p.m. on Old Redwood Highway south of Limerick Lane. According to the CHP, Ortiz's Volkswagen Beetle was traveling southbound and crossed over double-yellow lines and struck a
northbound Volkswagen Passat. The driver of the Passat died and a passenger in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Ortiz was booked into the Sonoma County Jail. The victim who died wasn't identified pending the notification of next of kin.
