2 Arrested In Healdsburg Arson Series, Cal Fire Says

HEALDSBURG, CA — Two Healdsburg men were arrested this week in connection with a series of fires in and around the Healdsburg area, including fires ignited the night of Sept. 6, 2021, Cal Fire's Sonoma Lake Napa Unit announced Thursday.

Estevan Miranda-Silva, 23, and Gabriel Gonzalez Flores, 19, were arrested Tuesday by Cal Fire law enforcement officers upon completion of an extensive multi-year investigation, authorities said in a news release.

The response to all the fires Sept. 6, 2021 — Labor Day — included 80 fire crews, 20 fire engines, six water tenders and three bulldozers.

The was incident dubbed the "13 Fire." The first vegetation fire was reported at 8:10 p.m. off Bailhache Avenue and was followed by fires north and west of Healdsburg, in Geyserville and in Dry Creek. The final fire broke out around 10 p.m. off West Dry Creek Road.

A total of 15 fires burned some 6 acres, with the largest blaze burning 2 acres off Chiquita Road, Cal Fire said at the time.

Miranda-Silva and Gonzalez Flores were each booked into Sonoma County jail on 23 felony counts, including arson, conspiracy and trespassing.

It is further alleged that a ghost gun was recovered from the car Miranda-Silva was driving at the time of his arrest; therefore, Cal Fire said its officers would seek additional firearm-related charges.

As of Friday, Miranda-Silva and Gonzalez Flores both remained in custody with their bail set at $2.07 million apiece, jail records showed.
