Adventures in Onigiri
A family-friendly workshop where you'll learn to craft onigiri and other Japanese lunch favorites.

There’s not a lunch box, birthday party, or afternoon snack that isn’t made more delicious and fun with onigiri! These bite-size balls of rice can be made with a variety of nutritious fresh and fermented ingredients, and are easily shaped and decorated to make animals, flowers, and more. Japanese cooking instructor Sonoko Sakai wrote the book on onigiri, Ricecraft, released this month from Chronicle Books, and on August 7 she will return to SHED for a family-friendly workshop to craft onigiri and other Japanese lunch favorites.
