Avaro Arciniega: "Youth of the Year"

On Jan. 19, Avaro Arciniega was given the prestigious award of being named this year’s "Youth of the Year" at the

Avaro leads others in the club by his inspiring example.  He has been attending the club for the past three years and has enthusiastically participated in many of the activities ranging from homework, to ping pong, to a community service group called Torch Club. 

What really sets Avaro apart is his service-oriented attitude and willingness to help his community.  He assisted in the recent Russian River Watershed project and daily serves as a role model for the club’s younger teens.

Avaro plans on attending college after graduating this year.  club director, said she was proud to present the to Avaro because it gave the club a chance to recognize this outstanding member in front of his peers and family. 

"Youth of the Year" encourages club members to reach their full potential by achieving academic success, leading healthy lifestyles and contributing to their communities, King said.
