Update: Bomb Threat At High School
A bomb threat at the Windsor High School shut down the campus Friday afternoon while SWAT and dogs swarmed the area.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA —A bomb threat at a local high school shut down the campus and the area around it several hours on Friday afternoon.
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office warned the public to avoid the area near Windsor High School. "We are currently investigating a bomb threat to Windsor High School. The school is on lockdown and there are multiple law enforcement agencies assisting," according to an alert at 12:31 p.m.
Parents of students should not come to the school, the Sheriff's Office said. "Further instructions will be sent once more information is known."

Reports from the school said that students, faculty, and staff were sheltering in place while trained dogs searched for traces.
One woman wrote online that everyone on campus was safe: "Don't go to the school the roads are blocked and police are actively searching for someone. No weapons reported."

Authorities blocked off the 8000 block of Windsor Road at about 12:15 p.m. and advised the public to stay out of the area.
The campus reopoed at about 3 p.m. "We have concluded our search of Windsor High School and have determined that there is no bomb threat to the school," the sheriff's office reported.
The school day ended with the lifting of the lockdown and the sheriff's office, who said parents should follow normal pick-up procedure and refer to a message sent by the school for more details on the bomb alert.
