Boney James Kicks off Rodney Strong Summer Concert Series on June 18

Acclaimed saxophonist Boney James kicks off the Rodney Strong Summer Concert Series on June 18.

With four gold albums, four Grammy nominations and sales of more than 3 million records, James, whose style falls on the R&B and pop side of jazz, is sure to put on a colorful live performance.

James’ latest album, Futuresoul released last year, debuted at number one on contemporary jazz charts, and in a few months, it hit the top spot on the standard jazz albums chart.

The June 18 concert will also feature Morgan James, no relation to Boney. She is a New York-based soul singer, songwriter and Broadway actress with performances in productions, such as Motown: The Musical, Godspell and The Addams Family.

In its 26th year, the Rodney Strong series includes five summer-time concerts, award-winning wines, and local food purveyors at the scenic Concert Green & Terrace setting at Rodney Strong Vineyards.

More concerts in the series include Smokey Robinson on July 23; Dave Koz and David Sanborn Side By Side on August 13; Huey Lewis and The News on August 21; and The B-52s on September 17.

Surrounded by acres of beautiful vineyards, guests will be treated to intimate, unforgettable concert experiences. Rodney Strong wines, non-alcoholic beverages and an array of delectable fare will be available. Gates open at 4 p.m. Concerts begin at 5 p.m.
