Cloverdale's Friday Nights Will Light Up the Music Scene
Eleventh annual Friday Night line-up in Cloverdale is more than just a Healdsburg copy-cat any more.
The Cloverdale Arts Alliance has released their Friday Night Live concert line-up for this summer, May 31- August 30, and it threatens to take people away from Healdsburg on a Friday night for our upstart neighbor to the north.
“Come experience the best of small town Americana and a rockin’ good time at Friday Night Live in downtown Cloverdale every Friday evening all summer long!” reads their invitation.
Headline artists over the 14 week include blues stars Roy Rogers and Tommy Castro (separate nights), Afro-Brazilian rockers SambaDá , progressive bluegrass from Hot Buttered Rum and season-ender Chuck Prophet, who played to a packed Healdsburg Plaza last year.

Cloverdale’s Friday Night Life is like Healdsburg Tuesday nights used to be, in the sense that it’s preceded by a Farmer’s Market starting at 5:30. The bands begin at 7, and usually play for at least two hour-long sets as the long summer day comes to an end. Food vendors are open throughout the evening for dinner or snacks, craft beer is available, and there’s always a sponsor winery at each Friday concert to feature their vintages.
Meanwhile we’re waiting for the Healdsburg Parks & Recreation to announce their Tuesday Music in the Plaza line-up, unavailable as we publish this. Last we heard they’ve been waiting on one band to confirm before they’ll release the whole schedule. Patch is “on it” and will let you know as soon as we do.
