Consignment Store Out, 'Pair' Tasting Room In

Former Catalina's Consignment to transform to Pair Tasting Bar and Lounge.

Catalina Perez cleared her closets big-time this weekend with a going-out-of-business sale at Catalina's Consignment, 431 East St. in Healdsburg.

Perez sold out her stock of clothes, shoes, furniture and collectibles at the 900-square-foot ground-floor commercial space, a former PG&E office.

Perez is partnering with Matt Paille, chef and owner of Epicurean Escape Catering, to launch Pair Tasting Bar and Lounge in the space formerly occupied by the consignment store.

"We're super excited," said Perez. She and Paille said they hope to open the new wine tasting room -- with many creative food pairings -- by October.

"We want to have bistro tables where people can sit," she said.

Paille said he also wants to start "underground" dinner parties. Epicurean Escape has had a booth every Tuesday this summer for the 2011 series in Healdsurg.
