County Coroner IDs Healdsburg Woman Killed in Wednesday Crash
The accident was on Highway 101 in Rohnert Park.

The Sonoma County coroner’s office has identified a woman who died after a collision on U.S. Highway 101 in Rohnert Park on Wednesday night as 43-year-old Rogina Cruz-Valentine.
Cruz-Valentine, a Healdsburg resident, was driving a 1991 Honda Accord north on Highway 101 north of Golf Course Drive in the No. 2 lane around 7:50 p.m., California Highway Patrol Sgt. Robert Boyer said.
Yolanda Nunez, 41, of Santa Rosa, was driving a 1996 Toyota 4Runner at 65 mph alongside the Honda in the No. 3 lane, Boyer said. When Cruz-Valentine drove into the No. 3 lane and lightly contacted the Toyota, Nunez swerved onto the right shoulder, Boyer said.

Nunez then overcorrected to the left into the path of the Honda and both vehicles collided again and crashed into the center divider wall, according to Boyer.
The Toyota stopped in the center divider and the Honda crossed over the traffic lanes and went down an embankment on the east side of the road, Boyer said.

Cruz-Valentine was found unconscious and not wearing a seatbelt in the Honda and both drivers were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Boyer said. Cruz-Valentine was pronounced dead at the hospital at 8:49 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.
CHP Officer Jon Sloat said a methamphetamine pipe was found in Cruz-Valentine’s possession at the hospital.
Nunez was treated for neck and back pain and was released, Boyer said.
