Calpine Corp. Receives Award From DOC

Calpine Corporations' The Geysers has been presented with an "Outstanding Lease and Facility Maintenance Award' from the California Department of Conservation (DOC).

DOC director Mark Nechodom presented the award to Calpine Corporation's senior vice president, Mike Rogers.

The presentation marked Calpine’s 11th consecutive year to receive the award, which recognizes safety and environmental responsibility in the  management of a state-owned lease. 

Calpine is the nation's largest renewable geothermal power producer. It operates 15 power plants at The Geysers capable of generating up to 750 megawatts of renewable energy around the clock.
