Duo Accused In Sonoma County Work Truck Thefts Caught In Richmond
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said detectives had been investigating a series of break-ins and truck thefts for the past several weeks.
BAY AREA, CA — Sonoma County Sheriff's detectives on Wednesday tracked a truck stolen in Santa Rosa to Richmond and arrested two men believed to be connected to a series of burglaries and vehicle thefts involving work trucks and power tools throughout Sonoma County, the sheriff's office said.
With the help of the Richmond Police Department, deputies took 27-year-old Jesus Giovani Peralta and 28-year-old Mario Arvizu-Ramirez into custody early Wednesday morning.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Property Crimes and Narcotics Unit had been investigating the thefts for the past several weeks.

It is alleged that when authorities caught up with the duo Wednesday in the stolen commerical truck, the two men had multiple stolen power tools, burglary tools and several catalytic converters.
Both men have a criminal history in Sonoma County.

Peralta was arrested in 2019 in Windsor, and found to be part of a ring that burgled more than 500 work trucks around the Bay Area. He is also on probation for burglary in Marin County.
Arvizu-Ramirez was arrested Aug. 24 in Windsor on suspicion of possession of tools stolen from a work truck.
The men remained behind bars Thursday at the Sonoma County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
