Earthquake Near The Geysers Shakes Bay Area

The Northern California earthquake was felt from the North Bay to the East Bay and on the Peninsula.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A 3.9-magnitude earthquake was recorded early Wednesday at a depth of 2.5 miles and was centered near The Geysers in northern Sonoma County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake struck at 4:45 a.m. and was 3 miles from Cobb, 3.2 miles from Anderson Springs, 23 miles from Santa Rosa and 35 miles from Ukiah, according to the USGS.

The Northern California earthquake was felt from the North Bay to the East Bay and on the Peninsula, according to the responses submitted to the USGS. Among those who reported experiencing the quake included residents of Healdsburg, Lower Lake, Windsor, Santa Rosa, Calistoga, Cloverdale, Angwin, St. Helena, Sebastopol, Napa, Petaluma, San Rafael, Vallejo, Martinez and San Francisco.
