Earthquake Rattles The Bay Area Friday Morning
Here's what the U.S. Geological Survey has to say about the earthquake.
SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude reading of 3.1 was felt in the Bay Area at 8:42 a.m. PST Friday.
The epicenter was The Geysers , according to the United States Geological Survey Shake Map. This was the strongest earthquake felt at The Geysers on Friday, where at least a dozen temblors with a magnitude of at least 1.0 have been recorded. The USGS measures days in UTC time, not Pacific Standard.
So far, just North Bay and East Bay residents report being shaken. Did you feel it?
