Easter Brunch rises again
If Thanksgiving gives us the dinner feast to mark a bountiful harvest, Easter delivers the breakfast banquet to celebrate springtime's promise
Once you’ve passed the gather-the-eggs stage of Easter, the next question is often, Where’s brunch? Ever vigilant, Healdsburg Patch has collected this handy list of Easter Brunch happenings this Sunday. Remember to make your reservations soon, most of these restaurants have limited seating.
is a hide-away post-modern bistro that has brunch every Sunday, 11 – 2, but they are planning something a little special this weekend. There’ll be a “bottomless mimosa bar” ($14) and a prix fixe menu ($24) featuring house-baked scones, a choice of entrees from Spanish frittata or salmon Benedict, and a suitable springtime dessert. If you’re “so over” mimosas, ask Scott to fix you a strawberry champagne mojito, spiked with soju.
restaurant on Center Street has put together quite a nice Sunday Brunch menu on their website. After the hot cross buns and chèvre croquettes, you have a choice of fruits, salads or chilled asparagus soup, then six entrées “eggs benny” to Alaskan halibut, duck “hash” to leg of lamb, quiche to French toast. And oh yes, mimosa, bloody mary or other cocktail is included.

plans "Nothing special, just our regular Sunday brunch menu. Which is pretty incredible.” Just how incredible? Two organic poached eggs (designated “Sunday brunches undefeated champions”) over red flannel hash, or smoked salmon, or creamy goat cheese polenta – you get the idea. With Bloody Marys, mimosas, screwdrivers and other healthful beverages.
serves Easter Sunday Brunch from 11 to 2, a three-course meal for $49. Each course offers a wide assortment of choices. You could go veggie and have Sonoma County Greens, Rigatoni pasta with arugula pesto, a frozen carrot cheesecake parfait. Or kick it off with a charcuterie platter, dig into coffee crusted New York Steak and eggs, end with bittersweet chocolate mousse. You get the idea, it’s your $49.

does the holiday right with an Easter Sunday special menu and holiday hours. They are open only from 11 am – 5 pm (no regular dinner hours), and feature a brunch and early dinner a la carte menu. Expect eggs Benedict, steak huevos rancheros, steak or ham and eggs, and – get this – bread pudding French toast. As the day goes on you may choose the early dinner of prime rib, sirloin, and their usual steak-house items.
is your chance for a splurge, always worth it if it’s done up right. The Manor promises the evening dining experience from 1 – 3 pm in the afternoon, with four, five or six course meal (your choice) for an appropriate prix fixe ($73 - $91). Special deserts are planned as well as “between-course treats,” and the décor is bound to be expressively Easter.
doesn’t usually do brunch, but that may change. Chef Joyanne is experimenting with the Easter holiday for a Sunday Brunch menu, served 11-3. The garden will be open, weather permitting; but the real tell is is the encouragement to “dress in Sunday best.” Don’t think I’ve heard that phrase in awhile, I may have to do some clothes shopping. Call ahead for the day’s special menu if you don’t want to be surprised.
sticks to its regular breakfast and lunch hours on Sunday, 7am – 3pm (same as every day, in fact), but "it's our busiest day of the year," they say. They feature the kind of dishes you usually don't find at the Singletree -- prime rib (most expensive dish on the menu at $16.95), fresh wild salmon, cod Benedict, and more. Best advice is to get there before 10 am or after noon, there is competition for those retro booths. And yes, they do have champagne, mimosas, and Bloody Marys.
is closed to give everyone family time, but “we will be open Mother’s Day!” they enthused. Good point: if you can’t muster the family holiday vibe this weekend, there’s always Mother’s Day in May.
