Missing Elderly Forestville Man Located

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — UPDATED: A 75-year-old Forestville man reported missing Thursday has safely returned home thanks to an observant member of the Sonoma County community, a sheriff's official said. William "Bill" Mitchell was located Thursday night at a Jack in the Box in Santa Rosa by the woman who saw sheriff's office Nixle and Facebook messages that he'd gone missing, Sgt. Spencer Crum said.

ORIGINAL POST: The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office was investigating a missing person report Thursday of an elderly man who suffers from dementia. William "Bill" Mitchell is 75 years old and was last seen at about 11 a.m. Thursday in front of Forestville Pharmacy, 6652 Front Street in Forestville, sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Crum said in a news release.

Mitchell was last seen wearing jeans and a short-sleeved blue button-up shirt.

"He may have taken a bus to the Guerneville area," Crum said.

Anyone who sees Mitchell or knows of his whereabouts was urged to call to call the sheriff's dispatch line at 707-565-2121.
