Fire Near Cloverdale Closes U.S. Highway 101 Southbound Lane

Breaking: The closure on southbound 101 between Geyserville and Cloverdale was in effect Monday afternoon, CHP reported.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- A wildfire broke out Monday along U.S. Highway 101 near Cloverdale, prompting the closure of a southbound lane to accommodate fire crews. The brush fire was reported at about 11:45 a.m. on 101 south at N. Cloverdale Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A SigAlert was issued at 12:45 p.m. Monday for southbound 101, north of state Route 128, advising that the right lane of southbound 101 is closed between Geyserville and Cloverdale. The closure may remain in effect until 8 p.m., according to CHP.

"Expect delays as you enter Sonoma County from Mendocino County," CHP advised motorists. "It is estimated that the right lane will remain closed till approximately 8 p.m."
