Food Lover's Book Group - The World on a Plate 8/10

Meet with other readers and SHED customers and staff for the SHED Food Lover’s Book Group, where we’ll tackle the history, philosophy, and politics of food with works by some of our favorite authors. We’ll share our passion for eating, cooking, and reading in a discussion group and some beverages from the SHED Fermentation Bar.

We’ll be meeting on Wednesday, August 10 in the SHED Grange to discuss Mina Holland’s The World on a Plate, a book that takes armchair gastronomers on a tour of the world through the cuisine of forty cultures.

What’s the origin of kimchi in Korea? Why do we associate Argentina with steak? Why do people in Marseille eat bouillabaisse? What is the story behind the curries of India?
