Guerneville Man Busted For Alleged Kiddie Porn Possession

The 40-year-old was arrested after a three-month investigation, deputies said.

Sonoma County sheriff’s officials arrested a Guerneville man Monday on suspicion of possessing child pornography.

Stuart Staub, 40, was arrested after a three-month investigation by the sheriff’s office’s crime scene investigation and domestic violence/sexual assault units.

He was booked into Sonoma County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 4, sheriff’s Sgt Cecile Focha said. Investigators seized computer evidence when they searched Staub’s apartment on Fern Road in Guerneville on Dec. 23, Focha said.

Staub and other residents of the home were interviewed during that search but Staub was not arrested at the time, Focha said.

After a forensic examination of the computer evidence, however, detectives found multiple child pornography images on Staub’s computer, Focha said.

The Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the evidence and a warrant was issued for Staub’s arrest for possession of obscene matter involving minors, Focha said.

The sheriff’s office is an active affiliate of the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which operates in 11 counties in the greater Bay Area, Focha said.
