BlueBarrel’s Hands-On Rainwater Workshops engage community members in building a BlueBarrel Rainwater Catchment System™ at a real-life installation site. Participants learn the principles and practices of rainwater harvesting and gain hands-on experience in outdoor plumbing assembly, ventilation and filtration practices, downspout tie-in and overflow.
At our Healdsburg workshop we will begin with an indoor educational session on rainwater harvesting, picnic together (bring a brown-bag lunch!), and then transition outside to build a 9-barrel (500 gallon) BlueBarrel System. Each participant has a hand in construction, gaining the skills and confidence to go home and build their own system. All experience levels welcome!
