Healdsburg Farmers' Market Pumpkin Festival Promises Old-Fashioned Fun
On Sat., Oct. 29, the Healdsburg Farmers' Market will be full of fun and games as the annual Pumpkin Festival gets under way.
Pumpkins—carved and to be carved—are the focus of Saturday’s Pumpkin Festival held in conjunction with the Healdsburg Farmers’ Market.
“This is the best time of year for the colors of the fall season,” said Mary Kelley, the market manager. “There are so many squashes—summer and winter squashes—among them carving pumpkins.
“We will provide pumpkins for carving at the market,” Kelley continued. “Pre-made pumpkin cars can be brought to the market for pumpkin car racing.

“Everything will be composted by West Side School.”
Pumpkin car races will be held by age category. The racetrack was created by Jerry Stewart, now deceased. Barbara Stewart continues to be active with the Healdsburg Farmers' Market.

The Healdsburg Farmers’ Market is known for its fun, farm-related festivities. Not only do they hold the pumpkin festival, and a in August, each week brings acoustic music. Once a month is .
The final Tuesday farmers’ market of the season was held this week. But the Saturday market will continue to run through November.
In addition, the whole month of November will include the annual Arts & Crafts Market, featuring upward to 35 local artists and artisans with their crafts.
The Healdsburg Farmers' Market is held every Saturday May through November from 9:00am - noon in the parking lot behind the Bear Republic.
