Hendrickson Battles Injury to Shine in State Wrestling Championships
Tsarnas also shines before elimination from tournament in Bakersfield

Healdsburg High's Adam Hendrickson reached the consolation semifinals Saturday before being eliminated from the California Interscholastic Federation Wrestling Championships at Rabobank Arena.
Hendrickson, the North Coast Section champion at 135 pounds, was eliminated after losing by injury default to Gilroy's Blake Kastl in the consolation semifinals.
Hendrickson had fallen into the consolation bracket after winning his first two matches in the state championship. He lost in the quarterfinals to Bakersfield's Timmy Box. Hendrickson also lost by injury default in the match versus Box.

Hendrickson started Friday by defeating Jason Ladd, of Clovis, and then downing Willows' Daniel Garcia.
Healdsburg's Anthony Tsarnas also turned in a solid performance at the state meet.

Tsnarnas opened the meet by defeating Tony Del Gado, of Vacaville, at 152 pounds. Tsarnas then lost to Ian Messaros, from Cupertino, to fall into the consolation bracket. Edison's Cameron Bustos fell to Tsarnas.
In the third round of consolation action. Tsarnas won by decision over Poway's Maudin Latifi. Orland's Brett Schumann beat Tsarnas to eliminate the Greyhounds' star in the fourth round of consolation bracket action.
Healdsburg's Ricardo Sandoval fell in two straight matches and was eliminated from action on Friday. He lost to Vista's Jordan Donahue to open the championship meet, then lost to Citrus Hill's Jeremy Bonilla.
Eric Chavez lost to San Fernando's Ted Peralta at 215 to open the 215-pound weight division. Chavez then knocked off Galileo's Micheal Brzozek before losing to Oak Hill's Anthony Jimenez.
