Hit-And-Run Victim In Nearby Napa Co. Dies From Injuries; VW Beetle Driver Sought

Police suspect the silver car, with CA license 7EFY913, is being hidden in a storage unit or garage somewhere in the region. [Breaking]

NAPA, CA –A 54-year-old Napa man struck by a hit-and-run driver early Friday passed away from his injuries this morning, and police are seeking the driver of a 2014 silver VW Beetle suspected in the crash.

Michael Daniel Green was walking in the area of Monarch Drive and Byway East around 2:15 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle, police said. He was transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital and on Friday was listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

The Napa police said that based on the investigation at the scene the vehicle involved was a 2014 silver Beetle with a California license plate of 7EFY913. The car would show damage, either at the front or rear, on the lower driver's side, the department said.

Police said they believe the vehicle is being hidden, either in Napa, nearby or a remote locale -- possibly in a storage unit or a garage.

The crash area on Friday was closed for six and a half hours during the accident reconstruction and investigation team, police said.
