Mickey Hart at Raven on Wednesday
The former Grateful Dead percussionist will bring his new ensemble to the Raven Theater on March 7.
Mickey Hart, formerly one of the dual drummers in psychedelic rock stalwarts The Grateful Dead, will play with the latest incarnation of at the on Wednesday, March 7.
Hart has long studied and collected percussion and even helped invent a couple of percussive instruments with the Dead in the ’80s. He has written several books on drums and drumming, and has recorded a number of albums on his own apart from the iconic "jam band."
The new Mickey Hart Band has a "cosmic nature," possibly since Hart has reportedly been working alongside NASA for the past few years to sample signals of light waves from transmitters around the world.

Hart's newest album, lucidly titled "Mysterium Tremendum," is scheduled for release April 10.
Expect new percussion-heavy, vibration-inspired songs along with some of those good old Dead grooves to vibrate through the show.

Tickets are $35, available at the box office and at Copperfield's Books in Healdsburg and Last Record Store in Santa Rosa. Show time is 8 p.m.
