SONOMA COUNTY, CA — California Highway Patrol is seeking the driver of a red Honda Civic in an alleged hit-and-run crash Friday on U.S. Highway 101 in Santa Rosa that left a motorcyclist injured and stranded on the side of the freeway. CHP Officer Jonathan Sloat said officers responded at 12:02 a.m. to find a 1994 Honda motorcycle down in the No. 3 lane just north of the Steele Lane onramp to southbound 101.

"The officers then observed an injured rider yelling for help leaning against the guardrail adjacent to the shoulder," Sloat said.

Fire and ambulance personnel were summoned to the scene and the rider, a 29-year-old Santa Rosa man, was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of a possible broken ankle, possible dislocated shoulder and road rash across his body, Sloat said.
