Pedestrian Killed On Stony Point Road From Santa Rosa
The 39-year-old was hit Tuesday night by a pickup truck while crossing the street, police said.

SANTA ROSA, CA – A 39-year-old, female pedestrian was struck and killed by a Chevy pickup truck Tuesday night at Stony Point and Occidental roads in Santa Rosa, according to authorities.
The victim, Jennell Marie Davies of Santa Rosa, was pronounced deceased at the scene despite life-saving effort from responders, the Santa Rosa Police Department said.
Witnesses reported Davies at about 9:49 p.m. appeared to be crossing eastbound across Stony Point from the Oliver’s Market Shopping Center and was in the crosswalk when hit by the black truck which was heading north on Stony Point, police said. However, the driver and witnesses reported the pickup had a green light and the right-of-way as it traveled northbound.

"The area where the collision occurred was dark and lit by several streetlights," police said. "All traffic lights appeared to be functioning normally."
The pickup driver, a 26-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said, adding that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision.

Northbound Stony Point at Occidental was closed for several hours during the investigation.
