Readers Choice for Healdsburg's Best Child Care Is...
Parents and teachers weighed in, even though for many it was spring break. Thanks for voting!

You’d think the issue of day care would spark debate, or at least competition. Competition yes, debate no. Where are the comments, the reviews, the ratings on these pre-school’s listings?
Maybe it was our mistake: it’s spring break for area primary schools, which means that many families are taking their youngest to pre-schools.
In any case, voting is over and the winner of our (pre-school) is , at the corner of North and First streets and right next to Healdsburg Elemenary.

Surely its location makes it easy for growing families, but its strong showing in voting (almost 40% of our 60 votes) shows more than just convenience is at work here.
Ironically, the first runner-up was the , which is right next door. Both accept 3-5 year olds, though the Child Development Center is operated by the Community Child Care Council of Sonoma County, while the Nursery School is privately owned and relies upon parents to participate with hands-on time at the school.

Both are great choices, however, and ironically this means that no fewer than four schools are in the square city block between North and Piper at First – the other two being and .
Our community’s children are in good hands.
