Rocky Fire Balloons Overnight To 8,000 Acres: SEE PHOTOS

Cal Fire reported this morning that the fire in Lake County, known as Rocky Fire, has consumed 8,000 acres -- already surpassing in less than 24 hours the nearby Wragg Fire, contained at 7,500 acres after a week.

Rocky Fire was first reported Wednesday shortly after 4 p.m. at 150 acres, with smoke visible from neighboring Napa and Sonoma counties.
The fire has destroyed several outbuildings and is traveling at a rapid rate of speed, officials said.

Immediate evacuations are in place for residents in the area. An evacuation center is open at the Highland Senior Center, 3245 Bowers Road, Clearlake.
An animal evacuation center is open at the Lower Lake Social Services parking lot, 15975 Anderson Ranch Parkway, Lower Lake.
