Sebastopol Woman Arrested For Suspected Driving On Drugs In Rear-End Crash

PETALUMA, CA – A 23-year-old woman from Sebastopol was arrested today for suspected driving under the influence of drugs after allegedly rear-ending a truck on North McDowell Boulevard in Petaluma, according to police.
Officers arrived on North McDowell, north of East Washington Street, shortly after 2 p.m. to find a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, in the south lanes of North McDowell, which was at a stop light and struck from behind by a 2012 Mini Cooper, the Petaluma Police Department said.
The Mini Cooper driver, Tabitha Zeigler, showed signs of being under the influence, performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested, police said. A Preliminary Alcohol Screening Test showed no measurable amount of alcohol in her system, police said, adding that based on her field performance she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

She was not injured in the accident.
The Chevy driver, a 30-year-old male from Petaluma, also was not injured, police said.

Zeigler submitted to a blood test at Petaluma Valley Hospital and was later released with a citation to appear for DUI to a third party, the department said.
