Sonoma Co. Deputies Shoot Pursuit Suspect In Arm
BREAKING: Officials say the incident began with a report near Healdsburg that a man had allegedly tried to run someone over with a truck.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A man driving an allegedly stolen truck was shot in the arm Tuesday night by Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies, an official with the sheriff's office said. The incident began at about 10:30 p.m. when the man allegedly tried to run someone over with the truck in the 300 block of Bailhache Avenue near Healdsburg, sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Crum said.
"It was reported that the suspect intentionally hit an acquaintance with his vehicle during an argument," Crum said. "The victim was uninjured but called for help."
Responding deputies learned that the suspect, identified Wednesday afternoon as Shawn Hart, 47, of Santa Rosa, also had a $50,000 restraining order violation arrest warrant, the sergeant said.

Deputies soon spotted the suspect in the truck near the Vineyard Creek Apartments off Airport Boulevard, Crum said, but when they tried to stop Hart, he instead allegedly drove through a nearby mobile home park.
"When the suspect reached the end of the mobile home park, deputies fired their handguns at the suspect, hitting him twice in the arm, at which point he immediately surrendered," Crum said.

Deputies treated the injured suspect at the scene until an ambulance crew arrived and took him to a hospital.
Crum said Wednesday afternoon that Hart remained hospitalized but was expected to survive his gunshot wounds.
Hart will be "booked on a number of charges upon his release," the sergeant said.
"Detectives are still investigating the incident and a thorough summary of the incident will be disclosed to the public as soon as the information becomes available," Crum said.
