Sonoma Co. Road Rage Incident Escalates To Stabbing: Police

BREAKING: A Santa Rosa man driving a BMW was ultimately arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police say.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- Police say a road rage incident Thursday in northwest Santa Rosa left one man with stab wounds and the other behind bars. According to a Santa Rosa Police Department statement, the driver of a white BMW and the driver of a green Toyota pickup truck both called police at 5:07 p.m. Thursday to report the incident that began as a dispute over one of the involved parties' driving.

Responding officers determined that following the initial traffic dispute, the drivers sped up and continued traveling at a high rate of speed until they both stopped their vehicles in the area of San Miguel and Fulton roads, police said.

At that point, the BMW driver is believed to have gotten out of his car and approached the Toyota driver. The two then got into an altercation during which the Toyota driver was stabbed with an unknown weapon, police said.
