Sonoma County Helps Rescued Big Cat Cub Recover: Watch
A mountain lion cub rescued in January is now mending at Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue and will be released when it is big enough.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A mountain lion cub rescued earlier this year is one step closer to returning to the wild, California wildlife officials said.
The cub, found in January, is now in the care of Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue, where it is being care for alongside another mountain lion cub, according to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The journey to Sonoma County was a long one. Found in Castaic, the Los Angeles Zoo gave the cub a safe place to stay, the Twin Oaks Equine Veterinary Services made sure it was healthy, and authorities tried to reunite cub and mother. When that wasn't successful, Flying Tails transported the cub to the Sonoma County to help prepare for a return to a natural mountain lion habitat.
