Sonoma Crushers Top Healdsburg Owls 4-1 at Rec Park

Healdsburg falls to Sonoma Saturday evening during Wine Country Baseball action.

What started as a strong showing for the ended in disappointment as they lost to the Sonoma Crushers 4-1 Saturday evening.

The Owls took an early 1-0 lead but continued to strand runners in scoring position, failing to take advantage of their strong hitting.

The Crushers came back to take the lead with a combination of smart base running, a couple of strategic hits and a few Owl errors.

l continues next Saturday, July 16, at with a full day of games starting with the Cloverdale Bandits taking on the Petaluma Pirates at 11:30 a.m.

Play continues with the Sebastopol Apples and the Oakville Aces at 3 p.m., followed by the Healdsburg Owls and the Rohnert Park Dragons at 6:30 p.m.
