SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A Lake County teen was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft after a pursuit in northern Sonoma County Wednesday morning, California Highway Patrol officials said. CHP Officer Brian Hiss tried to stop a 2015 Subaru WRX with five occupants that was driving 92 mph on southbound U.S. Highway 101 south of Dutcher Creek Road south of Cloverdale around 10:15 a.m.

The 17-year-old male driver from Kelseyville kept driving on the highway at more than 100 mph in the Geyserville Avenue and Lytton Springs Road area of Sonoma County until the Subaru ran out of gas on Lytton Springs Road, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.

The Subaru was reported stolen in Lake County on Tuesday, and the unlicensed driver was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and evading police, Sloat said.
