Trio Of Earthquakes Rattles Sonoma, Napa Counties

The largest of the quakes centered near The Geysers was 3.3-magnitude, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

NORTH BAY, CA — Three earthquakes measuring 3.3 and 3.2 rattled northern Sonoma County Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The trio of quakes struck near The Geysers over a three-minute span at 5 p.m. and was accompanied by a swarm of several smaller jolts, the USGS reported.

The earthquakes were felt nearby in Healdsburg, Geyserville, Calistoga, Napa, St. Helena, Middletown and Kelseyville, and in the East Bay in Richmond, according to responses submitted to the USGS.

At 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, a 2.2-magnitude quake near The Geysers was followed a minute later by a 2.1-magnitude.

There were no immediate reports of damage associated with the quakes.
