Trio Of Earthquakes Rattles The Geysers

All three quakes struck within an hour early Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A trio of earthquakes struck near The Geysers less than an hour apart Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The first one struck at 12:42 p.m with a magnitude of 3.0; The second, also a 3.0, was recorded a minute later at 12:43 p.m.

The third and strongest quake hit at 12:52 p.m. at a magnitude of 3.2.

According to USGS, all three quakes were centered about 3.5 miles north-northwest of The Geysers and about 26 miles north of Santa Rosa.

Residents in Middletown, Kelseyville, Geyserville and Hopland reported feeling one or more of the earthquakes.
