UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation's "Velo and Vines Ride" raises $120,000 for Medical Grants for Children

UHCCF is responsible for rewarding over 10,000 grants totaling to $29 million to children and their families to cover medical expenses.

HEALDSBURG, Calif. (June 11, 2016) –Nearly 100 local and pro cyclists from Sonoma County and across the United States rode in the second annual Velo & Vines Century Ride in Healdsburg today, more than tripling the amount of funds raised this year for the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF).

UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team members Daniel Eaton and Chris Jones helped lead the 100-mile ride, which began at the Arnot-Roberts Winery and continued through the rolling hills and valleys of Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River – a signature cycling route in the region.

UnitedHealthcare executives, including UHCCF President Matt Peterson, also attended the event. The Velo & Vines Century Ride raised more than $120,000 for UHCCF, which provides medical grants that help children gain access to health-related services not covered, or not fully covered, by their parents’ commercial health insurance plans.
