Windsor Routs Dublin 35-0

Jaguars advance to NCS Division 2 Championship

The Windsor Jaguar defense proved to be too much for the Dublin Gaels Friday night.  The Jaguars dominated the visiting Gaels 35-0 in a CIF NCS Division 2 semifinal playoff match-up.

The first quarter belonged to the defensive squads.  Neither offense could get into the groove as both teams turned the ball over on downs. Then the Jaguars took an early lead in the first quarter on a 190yard interception by Vince Valdes, who ran the ball in for a touchdown.

The second quarter saw the Jaguar offense start to gel. Quarterback Christian McAlvain connected with Taylor Biaggi for a 25-yard touchdown pass, then McAlvin ran the ball in for a 4-yard TD just over two minutes later. Windsor went into the half time with a 21-0 lead.

Windsor's Darrian Roman scored twice in the third quarter, first from the nine yard line and then from the four, extending Windsor's lead to 35-0.

The Gaels offense could never find their stride against the #1 seed Jaguars. Their best chance at scoring came late in the game when they took control of the ball on their own 29 yard line after a punt return.  But once again the Jaguar defense held strong, forcing the Gaels to turn the ball over on downs, ending Dublin's hope to get on the score board.
