SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery reported earlier this week at a Windsor sandwich shop. A clerk at the Subway restaurant on Hembree Lane called the sheriff's office at about 6:45 p.m. Monday, March 11 and reported being robbed at gunpoint and forced to give up cash from the register, sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Crum said.

"When deputies assigned to the Windsor Police Department arrived, the 17-year-old clerk advised that a suspect came into the store, went into the bathroom for a couple of minutes then came out brandishing a handgun at him," Crum said.

The suspect reportedly ordered the Subway worker to open the register and give him all the money, then left the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
