SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Police stopped a wrong-way driver who lost control of his pickup truck by spinning the vehicle in a roadway near the U.S. 101 on-ramp.
The white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck was traveling westbound the wrong way on Arata Lane from Brooks Road and straddling both lanes, according to Windsor Police Department Sgt. Jeffery Toney.
On Monday, a deputy spotted the vehicle on Old Redwood Highway near the southbound U.S. 101 on-ramp after 911 callers reported a pickup truck driving erratically through city streets.

When the driver failed to yield to the deputy's emergency lights and siren, the officer pursued the truck, which continued traveling northbound in the wrong lane on Old Redwood Highway near Eastside Road.
The officer finally used his car to stop the truck by forcing it to lose traction and rotate, Toney said. The tactic spun the Chevrolet Colorado pickup, which came to rest partially on top of the patrol vehicle.
