Zumbathon Fundraiser Mar. 2 at Parkpoint Healdsburg

A 2-hour dance workout is planned to help Chrissi Brunkow, recently diagnosed with mesothilioma, a serious cancer.

 

Friends and family of Chrissi Brunkow, a downtown Healdsburg shopkeeper and a longtime member of have a arranged a two-hour Zumba class to raise money for her medical care.

Brunkow, manager/buyer at has been diagnosed with mesothilioma, a serious lung cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. To survive this disease, she will need a special $150,000 treatment and surgery at UCLA that is not covered by her insurance company.

The Zumbathon, which is open to Parkpoint members and their friends, will be 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 2. Minimum donation is $20, cash or check, payable to the Chrissi Brunkow Fund.

The class will be lead by Kris Freewoman, Erik Cardenas and Evelyn Looney.
