Hemet father pleads public's help finding missing 16-year-old (nbclosangeles.com) — Hemet residents are being asked to help find 16-year-old Laiylah Mix, who disappeared after visiting Deputy Brett M. Harris Park and hasn’t been seen since July 26. Her father describes her mental health concerns and fears she may have run away. Authorities released her physical description and urge anyone with information to call the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. 
• Suspect in 2020 Riverside County highway homicide already in custody for different crime, deputies say (cbsnews.com) — Investigators say they’ve identified a Hemet man as the suspect in a 2020 homicide along Highway 74 near Hemet, after discovering he was already in state custody on another case. The victim, a Homeland resident, died after an altercation in Green Acres. Deputies recently arrested the suspect on a murder charge and are asking anyone with additional information to contact investigators.
