Complaints cite hundreds of possible violations from 2025–26, while the district insists it follows safety laws and is reviewing related personnel matters. Officials are considering better auditing tools as the probe continues. 
• Yorkshire Village denies wrongdoing after elder abuse raid; says hospitalized residents were on hospice (kesq.com) — State and county investigators recently raided Yorkshire Village, an assisted living and memory care home in unincorporated Hemet, as part of an elder abuse and neglect probe, sending several residents to local hospitals. The facility strongly denies any abuse, saying hospitalized residents were hospice patients who should not have been moved, and points to a clean state inspection weeks before the raid. Authorities are still investigating and asking the public for tips.
• RivCo Board OKs Imposing Fire Mitigation Fees for Delinquencies (mynewsla.com) — Riverside County supervisors have approved adding unpaid fire hazard abatement bills to property tax rolls for 200 parcels, including some in unincorporated Hemet. Owners who didn’t clear weeds or repay the county will now face tax liens, and the administrative fee for such work is rising from $254 to $380 next fiscal year. This could affect Hemet-area landowners with overgrown lots.
