Body Found Near Railroad Tracks in Southbay
The cause of death was not immediately determined. There was also no information available on the age or city of residence of the deceased.

A man’s body was found in a tunnel area near railroad tracks in Compton and the sheriff’s department on Wednesday was investigating his death, authorities said.
The discovery of the body near the Union Pacific tracks, close to the intersection of North Alameda Street and Rosecrans Avenue in Compton, was reported just before midnight Tuesday, said Lt. Mark Lucio of the sheriff’s Compton station.
Compton firefighters were called to the scene to help extricate the body, a Compton Fire Department dispatcher said. A coroner’s investigator was also sent to the location, according to the coroner’s office.

The cause of death was not immediately determined. There was also no information available concerning the age or city of residence of the deceased. The name will be withheld pending family notification.
The death was being investigated by the sheriff’s homicide bureau, according to the department.
