
HERMOSA BEACH, CA -- One man was hospitalized after being shot behind a building in Hermosa Beach, police reported Sunday. The shooting took place around 3 p.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of El Oeste, Hermosa Beach police Sgt. Robert Higgins said.
Officers were dispatched to the area in response to a "shots fired" call, Higgins said. The gunshots were reportedly heard around the rear of a building on that block. Responding officers found no one at the scene but did determine that a shooting took place.
The gunshot victim was eventually found at a local hospital, Higgins continued. Detectives, he said, were following up on several leads.

The victim was recovering at a hospital and was last reported in stable condition, Higgins said.
No suspect description was immediately available. A motive for the shooting was not released by police.
