Driver Teetering On Mount Washington Hillside Rescued
Firefighters rescued a driver who overshot his freeway and ended up trapped halfway down a hillside in Mount Washington.
MOUNT WASHINGTON, CA — A driver overshot a driveway on Mount Washington, leaving his vehicle halfway down a hill, was rescued by firefighters and the vehicle was eventually stabilized, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The drama began shortly after 2 p.m., near the intersection of Nordica and Palermo drives, according to fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The car ended up halfway down a hill, according to Humphrey. Firefighters used a long ladder and heavy-duty rescue fire tow truck to retrieve the car.

A firefighter at the scene says the car was not teetering above a cliff.
The car was eventually pulled to a stable position, Humphrey said. Its retrieval would be turned over to a private towing company, he added.

There was no information on the driver or why he overshot the driveway.
No injuries were reported.
