Armed Robbers Tie Up Hollywood Hills Residents In Home-Invasion

LOS ANGELES, CA — Residents at a home in Hollywood Hills were tied up and held at gunpoint as home-invasion robbers ransacked the house Wednesday morning.

Eventually, the residents were able to untie themselves and call 9-1-1. Police arrived at the multi-million-dollar home in the 2500 block of Carman Crest Drive shortly after 1 a.m., according to LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes.

The four people living in the home awoke to find the four armed intruders inside. The intruders rounded up the residents and tied them up, according to authorities. Though they ransacked the home, it was unclear what the robbers took. A neighbor told KTLA, the residents included a jeweler specializing in high-end watches, which have been targeted in a string of professional robberies across Los Angeles of late.

Authorities did not immediately release a suspect description. Police searched the neighborhood for the suspects, who ultimately got away.

The suspects left the area in a sedan that was parked down the street from the home. Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Guillen told KTLA there was no indication the victims were followed home as has been the case in numerous home-invasion robberies around the city.

Home-invasion robberies and violent robberies are spiking citywide. In many cases, victims spotted wearing expensive clothes or jewelry have been followed home from nightclubs. Jewelry stores and jewelers have also been targeted.
