California's wildfire season got off to a rough start with 19 wildfires this week ravaging about 10,000 acres.

LOS ANGELES, CA — In an ominous segue into the Fourth of July Holiday weekend, wildfires broke out across California this week. With the official start of summer wildfire season barely begun, about 10,000 acres burned in 19 separate wildfires since this week.

Across Southern California where five separate fires burned Thursday, air quality was poor, and the smell of smoke was strong more than 50 miles away from the various blazes ranging from San Diego County to Malibu.

In Northern California, the fast-moving Ranch Fire scorched 85 acres in Santa Clara County Thursday.
