Johnny Depp Accused Of Slugging LA Location Manager

A Los Angeles film location manager is suing actor Johnny Depp, alleging the star punched him for shutting down work to comply with permits.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Johnny Depp is in legal trouble again — this time for allegedly punching a Los Angeles film location manager who tried to shut down the day's work to meet film permit requirements.

The alleged incident occurred while the star will filming "City of Lies," an upcoming film about the murder of of rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. The Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit filed Friday by Gregg "Rocky" Brooks, claims Depp wanted to keep going even after Brooks tried to shut down the day's filming and he lost his temper with Brooks in front of cast and crew.

The suit claims that Depp accosted Brooks, yelling obscenities at him and adding, "You have no right to tell me what to do."

"At the same time, while screaming at plaintiff, Depp angrily and forcefully punched plaintiff twice in the lower left side of his rib cage and causing pain," according to the lawsuit.

The court document contends that Depp "continued to scream and berate (Brooks) in front of a set full of people until Depp's own bodyguards physically removed Depp from the scene."

Representatives for Depp could not be reached for comment.

Brooks claims he was asked to sign an agreement waiving his right to sue the production over the altercation, and when he declined to do so, he was fired.

The lawsuit, which also names the film's producer and director, alleges assault and battery, negligence and hostile work environment, among other claims. It seeks unspecified damages.
