Man Killed In Sunset Boulevard Shooting Identified

Police believe the 38-year-old shooting victim may have been the victim of a drug deal-gone-bad.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Authorities on Tuesday identified a 38-year-old man shot and killed in Hollywood on Monday. His killer is still on the loose.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, 38-year-old Sayf Abuhamda, of Corona, died at scene of the shooting early Monday morning.

Police were called to the 5900 block of Sunset Boulevard at 12:49 a.m. Monday where they found the victim, said LAPD Officer Lizeth Lomeli.

"The officers found the victim inside of his car. The victim had suffered a gunshot wound," Lomeli said.

Police suspect Abuhamda was buying drugs from another man when the two got into an argument and the dealer shot and robbed him, according to police.

No specific description was available of the gunman, who wore a hoodie and fled on foot, police said. The shooting may have involved a drug deal, police said.
