Hollywood's Congresswoman Is Hosting A Town Hall
Rep. Laura Friedman's town hall comes as President Donald Trump has ratcheted up his tariff threats.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — U.S. Rep. Laura Friedman, the Democrat who represents much of Hollywood in Congress, is inviting constituents to a town hall meeting later this month.
The meeting was announced President Donald Trump has doubled down on targeting trading partners with tariffs and new Social Security rules have created a challenge for those who are trying to access their benefits.
“From protecting Social Security and healthcare to making sure every child can access a healthy school meal, I’m fighting every day to defend the values we share in this district. But I can’t do it without hearing from you,” Friedman said in a statement. “Town halls are one of the most important ways I’ve been hearing about the ongoing challenges and concerns facing our communities. I hope to see you there.”

Town hall meetings generally offer Congress members a chance to speak directly to their constituents and for residents to sound off about their concerns. During Trump's second presidency, town halls have become venues for intense debate about his policies.
Friedman represents the 30th Congressional District, which stretches from Tujunga south through Burbank and Glendale and into Hollywood.
